Yemeni authorities have reaffirmed their support for the ceasefire, calling it “an inseparable part of the ceasefire”, the official said in a statement.
They said the ceasefire in the city of Marib and other parts of the country was “one thing and one humanitarian demand. Respecting the right to life of all people is the basis and essence of humanitarian work.”
Regarding Marib, he noted that he had been subjected to “the most heinous crimes” against civilians, and condemned this Thursday for throwing indiscriminate armed missiles and drones at civilian facilities, mosques and women’s prisons with explosive charges.
He pointed out that opening roads, guaranteeing the freedom of movement of citizens and removing the siege of cities, especially Thais, are at the center of humanitarian issues and are one of the priority issues of the authorities.
The Houthi militant group has refused to deny the airport in the capital, Sanaa, under its own terms, and promised that the government would provide “adequate concessions” to guarantee safe travel for all citizens.
He stressed that the opening of the air terminal was “a positive position” for the benefit of the civilians, and that he rejected its use as a military base to kill the Yemeni people.
When referring to the port of Hodeidah, the official note made it clear that the government had not closed it, but rather halted the agreed mechanism after all the revenue had been plundered by the Houthi.
Similarly, it demanded to ensure income and guarantee that these would reach the public authorities at a reasonable price to the citizens.
The Yemeni government commended the United Nations and US ambassadors for all their efforts and for the “sincere efforts of the brothers in the Sultanate of Oman.”
He also welcomed international efforts to bring about a just and lasting peace for the people of Yemen.
The Arab nation has been embroiled in an armed conflict since 2015, when Houthi forces led a conspiracy, plunging the country into a deep humanitarian crisis, displacing hundreds of thousands and causing a general famine that will affect nearly 80 percent of its population. .
